So much has happened over the last couple of weeks in Virginia. We started the new year with the VA HOD08 and Senate 19 districts holding special elections to replace Morgan Griffith and Robert Hurt who were elected in November to Congress. Over 6 buses traveled to Washington DC to see these gentlemen sworn in. It is amazing to see the changes in the House in the last two years.
Special elections held during winter months are always iffy and this year was no exception. The weather forecast was calling for freezing rain and ice on election day. The worst area was in Danville where Mr. Stanley won with 53.51% of the vote. He was victorious with 61.42% of the vote. With the Salem area watching the weather as well, we saw Greg Habeen packing to head to Richmond with 63.52% of the vote. These gentlemen worked hard and had a great team of grassroots volunteers working hard. They were phone banking, making calls, yard signs and sign waves out on cold, rain and snow to get out the vote.
We have heard the announcement of Jamie Radtke announce she is running for the Senate. Mrs. Radtke is the former President of the Federation of Virginia TEA Party Patriots.
Rumors flew this week regarding former Governor and Senator George Allen announcing him running for Senate. Many have been expecting this announcement for some time since Allen has been traveling the state for the last year being visible.
In November at the Republican annual meeting "Donal Huffman Advance" the State Central Committee met with the primary intent of deciding a convention or primary for the 2012 nomination process. Most tea party patriots believe a convention is the best way to decide the candidate, the Committee voted for a primary.
Redistricting in the state will prove to be a challenge. With the democrats controlling the state senate and republicans have the majority in the house, we will possibly have divisions we haven't seen in many years in the General Assembly. This year will bring the legislatures back to Richmond several times through out the year while they are running for re-election.
We have all said it before that this is the most important election in the state, well this holds true for the next two years!

19th Senate District
Living in conservative 5th district, one is never surprised when we hear about other conservatives living in the district. In reading about the candidates for the 19th senate seat once held by congressman elect Robert Hurt,it was surprising to see Hank Davis with such conservative values. (Although I question those values as being a tactic to gain votes.)
One does not like to question one's values, but reading about Mr. Davis is hard to believe from someone on the democratic side of the fence. Reading about Mr. Davis on his website was almost like reading about a republican. There are probably many differences, the first that was noticed was he is pro-life, with the exceptions of rape, incest and if the life of the mother is threatened. Mr. Davis says he is pro-gun, pro-business and he states he was part of a team that brought over 5,000 jobs to the area. If this is actually the case, why are we not hearing about it in the news?
Bill Stanley, the republican nominee, has listed 12 promises he will keep if he is elected. Mr. Stanley is pro-life. In his book there is no, "I believe, except for..." He will do everything he can to protect human life. Mr. Stanley will defend the right to bear arms and will protect our constitution.
No one wants to see taxes raised and Mr. Stanley has promised he will not vote to raise taxes. In our world today, we see more and more government regulations placed on small businesses. Mr. Stanley wants to see less regulations in the 19th district so we may have an area that is growing. That existing businesses will increase and new businesses will look to this area to call home.
It is encouraging to see people grow and show enthusiasm for the job at hand. Mr. Stanley is that person. He has grown over the last several years, from a member of the Franklin County Republican Unit, Chairman, to District Chairman and now looking to the future as a state senator.
Please spend a few minutes getting to know Mr. Stanley, show him you support him. Volunteers are needed to help make phone calls, deliver yard signs and talk with neighbors about the special election on January 11th. As always, for a campaign to be successful, you need funding. Consider making a donation to Bill Stanley for State Senate.

What Does the POTUS Put First?
We all go to the polls and vote on election day and hope we are voting in the best candidate to do the job, one whose values will line up with ours and one that will listen to what the people of their district is saying to them on what we would like to see accomplished while they are in office.
We all know we are not seeing out of the POTUS what we want, what we feel will better the country and what our founding fathers had as a vision for the future of America.
His recent trip overseas spending $200 million + is a prime example of the things we have not seen other Presidents do when over sears trips. How many times have previous Presidents rented whole hotels, taken battleships, 6,000 people with them on a trip? There has already been an announcement that he is working on an agreement to increase possibly 50,000 jobs in the future for overseas trade.
No matter the announcement, it is one of those things I will believe when I see it. Some where in the middle of this trip, I am sure we will see it is a vacation for him and the Mrs. and all of their family and friends.
After finishing the book "Spoken from the Heart" by First Lady Laura Bush, I am more proud of the Bush family than most people would have ever said while either President Bush was in office. The following is an excerpt from pages 420 and 421:
"There is also a larger picture to consider. No one, not even a president, is going to make the right decision every time. Presidents may have more information on which to base their decisions, but they do not have the benefit of hindsight. They mus be prepared to take risks for what they believe is right. And they must try to anticipate the future, not just two years or four years out but what consequences will be decades ahead.
George believes, and I believe as well, that the presidency is larger than the men who are in it. The Founding Fathers, who in the spring of 1787 wrestled with this issue, designed it that way. Each president's responsibility is to the office, the sole national institution that speaks for all Americans, regardless of their party or class or home or age. George always believed that it was his responsibility to treat the office with great care.
Presidents are not always right, but history tells us that our core values are right and that our country is good. Those are the values that guided George, the touchstone by which is measured what he did. George knew that in the heat of the moment, presidents tend to get much of the blame and little of the credit. Not all of his presidents to make decisions solely on the basis of their personal popularity, or poll numbers, or daily headlines. The challenges we face are too great for that.
I am proud that, as president, George acted on principle, that he put our country first and himself last."
Is this the same values we see from our current president? No I do not believe it is! He is putting himself and his agenda first, not that of the American people.

The Hurt Campaign Calls On Congressman Perriello To Come Clean Once And For All About Sending Anonymous Mail Pieces Promoting The Third Party Candidate
It is now becoming increasingly clear that in the most cynical attempt to win an election, Congressman Perriello is willing to deceive voters by promoting the third party candidate through anonymous mail pieces.
This is a pitiful attempt by an increasingly desperate candidate who knows he can’t win on his own failed record to trick the people of the 5th District by using the third party candidate as his pawn. Central and Southside Virginians deserve better than a Congressman who will say or do anything just to get elected and who proactively initiates, partakes in, and approves of this kind of dishonest, classless, and devious style of campaigning.
The Hurt campaign is calling on Congressman Perriello to immediately admit to and come clean about his role in sending these anonymous mail pieces. These kinds of political mail pieces without a disclaimer are in direct violation of FEC law.
The Facts:
· Congressman Perriello uses a union shop to print his franked mail. Note the union bug in the corner of page two on the attached piece. It is identified as shop No. 14. The websites attached demonstrate that Union Shop No. 14 is MV Print: 3229 Hubbard Road Landover, Maryland 20785.· A number of anonymous mailers have been showing up in the 5th District. While they bear no disclaimer, they do show bulk permit number 2856 from the Merrifield, VA Post Office. It has been confirmed that MV Print is bulk permit number 2856.
· Why is a mail shop that does Congressman Perriello's official mail pieces for his Congressional office, paid for at taxpayer expense, doing anonymous mail that would benefit Congressman Perriello in the General Election? It seems to be a rather strong coincidence.
Flashback:
Who is Jeff Clark in Bed With?
It is times like these we hear old expressions like "it is going to get worse before it gets better" or "it is always darkest before the dawn." Well it is proving true the "politics makes strange bed fellows" in Virginia's 5th district. It has become evident Mr. Clark is in bed with the democrats and Tom Perriello.
The 5th district of Virginia had been a conservative area for many years, but in 2008, big money was brought in an Tom Perriello was able to unseat Virgil Goode. Completely blinded by this change of events that conservative base has been working double time the last two years to right out tilting ship from the left back to the right again.
Politics can be a dirty place to play and at times it will keep Christians from being involved. At times this mentality will keep them from being informed. They will turn a blind eye. We are now hearing on the radio ads from a women in Campbell County that she is a christian and voting for her "wonderful" christian candidate Tom Perriello for Congress. The very guy that voted for the healthcare bill which includes federal funding for abortions. Well I wonder does she realize who he and his democrat friends are funding. (Of course I could expand on this subject immensely but will refrain!)
If you live in the 5th district you may have received some mailers from Jeff Clark in recent weeks. If yours didn't end up immediately in the trash can, please take a moment to review each mailer. Mr. Clark talks about wanting things like the Fair-Tax and to cut spending. But then you glance to the bottom corner of the page and you will see his flyers are being sent out by the National Democratic Committee.
Does this mean he would be caucusing with the Dems.?
Oh I am sure it does? You don't see them sending out literature with Robert Hurt's name on it for support. When will we wake up and realize the dirty underhanded things the democrats are doing in the 5th and other parts of Virginia. Come on people the time to decide is now. We are only 3 days away from one of the most important elections we have faced in our history.
Please vote on Tuesday, November 2nd and cast your vote in the 5th district for Robert Hurt!
