We have all been told numerous times over our life span that this is the most important election we have ever seen. So lets not go there just yet...
Elections this year go from the Presidential election, U.S. Senate and House of Representatives races and never has there been more back biting negativity than we are seeing this go round.
President Obama has had his negative ads running on television and radio for two months in Virginia. We are a battle ground state in this election and it is proving to be true. There have been people hired by his staff to work in Virginia long before we had our primary in March and more staffers have been added since then. This is a battle that can only be won by getting our boots on the ground.
Tim Kaine is an Obama puppet. We already know that he will do the bidding of the current administration and not ask questions. Tim Kaine did not leave the citizens of Virginia happy with the debt that was left after his time in our Governor's Mansion. Kaine even wanted to let a convicted murderer return to his home country to essentially be let go and back into society and not serve out his sentence. If we do not want to see Kaine back in an office representing Virginia, just showing up in November is not enough.
In the House of Representatives we need seasoned leadership back in office. We had a great team of Congressmen representing us for the last two years, do we want to see them return? We may not always agree with the votes they cast, but we have to remember there is information we do not have access to that might would cause us to think differently if we had every thing they had to draw their conclusion from.
When thinking about the elections we have facing us this year, we have to ask our self, are we just showing up at the poll to vote or are we actually talking with our family, neighbors and friends. Are we getting signs in yards, making phone calls, offering elderly people a ride on election day or are we just sitting back and waiting for the person beside us to do all the work and we as Republicans taking all the credit for the end result?
If you are wondering what you can do, please respond and we will get you in touch with someone to help get your started.
Do you want four more years of what you have had the last four?

8th District Nominees
When the race started in the spring between Morgan Griffith and Rich Boucher many did not see a rising star on the horizon to replace Morgan after his win. This writer spoke to the future nominee several times asking him to see the seat Morgan would be vacating. Well the unthinkable happened and Morgan is now our Congressman elect and we are now in the process of electing a replacement.
From out of no where Ginger Munpower is running on the democratic ticket and Greg Habeeb is the republican nominee. Ginger is the former owner of Ginger's Jewelers. In looking over the Ginger Mumpower for Delegate website, it seems we can get a glimpse of what to expect from her. The website is shallow and none of the pages on the site have more than two paragraphs with details about Ms. Mumpower. When you only have six statements on what the issues are for running a campaign, it gives an indication on what your objectives will be in Richmond.
On the other hand, we have Greg Habeeb. Greg has been actively involved in the district for several years. He is shown he is a leader and stays in touch with the issues. Greg has been out and about in the district and will represent the people.
During the last year, it has been said many times we don't need another lawyer in Richmond or Washington. To a point, this is a true statement. Between Mumpower and Habeeb, business owner verses lawyer, we see the difference between the two. This is attorney is one that has proven himself to the people of the community.
My vote will be cast of Greg Habeeb on January 11th. Please consider casting your vote for Greg, volunteer to help in his campaign and most of all please make a donation.

What Does the POTUS Put First?
We all go to the polls and vote on election day and hope we are voting in the best candidate to do the job, one whose values will line up with ours and one that will listen to what the people of their district is saying to them on what we would like to see accomplished while they are in office.
We all know we are not seeing out of the POTUS what we want, what we feel will better the country and what our founding fathers had as a vision for the future of America.
His recent trip overseas spending $200 million + is a prime example of the things we have not seen other Presidents do when over sears trips. How many times have previous Presidents rented whole hotels, taken battleships, 6,000 people with them on a trip? There has already been an announcement that he is working on an agreement to increase possibly 50,000 jobs in the future for overseas trade.
No matter the announcement, it is one of those things I will believe when I see it. Some where in the middle of this trip, I am sure we will see it is a vacation for him and the Mrs. and all of their family and friends.
After finishing the book "Spoken from the Heart" by First Lady Laura Bush, I am more proud of the Bush family than most people would have ever said while either President Bush was in office. The following is an excerpt from pages 420 and 421:
"There is also a larger picture to consider. No one, not even a president, is going to make the right decision every time. Presidents may have more information on which to base their decisions, but they do not have the benefit of hindsight. They mus be prepared to take risks for what they believe is right. And they must try to anticipate the future, not just two years or four years out but what consequences will be decades ahead.
George believes, and I believe as well, that the presidency is larger than the men who are in it. The Founding Fathers, who in the spring of 1787 wrestled with this issue, designed it that way. Each president's responsibility is to the office, the sole national institution that speaks for all Americans, regardless of their party or class or home or age. George always believed that it was his responsibility to treat the office with great care.
Presidents are not always right, but history tells us that our core values are right and that our country is good. Those are the values that guided George, the touchstone by which is measured what he did. George knew that in the heat of the moment, presidents tend to get much of the blame and little of the credit. Not all of his presidents to make decisions solely on the basis of their personal popularity, or poll numbers, or daily headlines. The challenges we face are too great for that.
I am proud that, as president, George acted on principle, that he put our country first and himself last."
Is this the same values we see from our current president? No I do not believe it is! He is putting himself and his agenda first, not that of the American people.

Terrifyingly True
Citizens Against Government Waste released this commercial last week. It's truly powerful and needs to open the eyes of far too many.
If we aren't careful, this is exactly where we're going to end up - as we're already headed there now.
If you value the message that this video speaks, get out there and get the right people elected. Show your extra support for Robert Hurt, Morgan Griffith, Chuck Smith, Scott Rigell, Patrick Murray, and Keith Fimian. We need to get them to Washington to join our other, conservative congressmen from Virginia. Be it what it is, our lives really do depend on it.
Scary, but true.
