8th District Nominees

When the race started in the spring between Morgan Griffith and Rich Boucher many did not see a rising star on the horizon to replace Morgan after his win.  This writer spoke to the future nominee several times asking him to see the seat Morgan would be vacating.  Well the unthinkable happened and Morgan is now our Congressman elect and we are now in the process of electing a replacement.

From out of no where Ginger Munpower is running on the democratic ticket and Greg Habeeb is the republican nominee.  Ginger is the former owner of Ginger's Jewelers.  In looking over the Ginger Mumpower for Delegate website, it seems we can get a glimpse of what to expect from her.  The website is shallow and none of the pages on the site have more than two paragraphs with details about Ms. Mumpower.  When you only have six statements on what the issues are for running a campaign, it gives an indication on what your objectives will be in Richmond.

On the other hand, we have Greg Habeeb.  Greg has been actively involved in the district for several years.  He is shown he is a leader and stays in touch with the issues.  Greg has been out and about in the district and will represent the people.

During the last year, it has been said many times we don't need another lawyer in Richmond or Washington.  To a point, this is a true statement.  Between Mumpower and Habeeb, business owner verses lawyer, we see the difference between the two.  This is attorney is one that has proven himself to the people of the community.

My vote will be cast of Greg Habeeb on January 11th.  Please consider casting your vote for Greg, volunteer  to help in his campaign and most of all please make a donation.
